It measures both non-magnetic coatings on Steel and non-conductive coatings on Aluminum. The PaintGage FNF-A Paint Gage is an ideal tool for verifying the Coating Thickness on new and pre-owned automobiles, making it easy to identify collision damage and previous refinish work in all types of weather conditions.
Device automatically recognizes the substrate material and takes an accurate measurement. Testing performance is both non-destructive and extremely accurate.

The PaintGage FNF-A is capable of measuring up to 40 mils (1000 µm) of paint or lacquer coating thickness on both steel and aluminum car body panels.
With 3% accuracy and a 0.1 mil resolution, PaintGage FNF-A Paint Thickness Meter is capable of meeting the requirements of most automotive Paint Thickness Measurement applications.

PaintGage FNF-A Mil Thickness Gauge equipped with a large High Contrast 2 Line Flip LCD Display and capable of storing last 10 measurements in a it's memory (you can take up to 10 measurements and then compare all the results).
